Tools For Building A Site From Scratch
Tue ,29/09/2009
Last week I looked at 4 things that every online business site should have to help customers interact with your site.
I didn’t want to discount aesthetics, as they play an equally important part. I’m a big fan of WordPress as a platform to build on, as most of the templates make it easy to create a good looking site. However if you plan on building from scratch or on a different CMS, there are a number of great resources available that can help you along that I wanted to share. Whatever design software you choose to work with, these resources will help your design be eye catching.
Kuler – this is a free tool from Adobe that is great for working out colour palettes. Let’s face it, we’ve all seen sites that hurt out eyes. Making sure your colours work together between backgrounds, links, headings etc is vital. This site gives you over 12,000 matched colour palettes that you can use, all of which have colour values attached, making it easy to find the right combination for your site.
